Ichiko Aoba Announces New Album and World Tour
Japanese singer-songwriter Ichiko Aoba is set to release her ninth studio album, 'Luminescent Creatures,' on February 28, 2025, via her label hermine. This album serves as a spiritual successor to her 2020 release, Windswept Adan, exploring themes inspired by the ocean's beauty and mystery. Aoba describes the project as a "dictionary" of ideas, with each track acting as a seed planted for listeners.
In support of the new album, Aoba will embark on the 'Luminescent Creatures World Tour,' commencing on February 24, 2025, in Hong Kong. The tour will cover multiple continents, including performances in Asia, Europe, North America, and Mexico. Notable dates include a concert at London's Barbican Centre on March 31, featuring the 12 Ensemble, and two nights at The Wiltern in Los Angeles on April 26 and 27, accompanied by the Wordless Music Quintet.
